The Steam store page states that Soul is framed for murdering his master, suffers a wound to the heart, and has sixty-six days left to live. Alone and hunted, he roams the Wulin to unravel a conspiracy that has ensnared the martial world.
The same copy names the setting's exploratory layer: the Phantom World, Memory Flowers, the Discordance, Transcension, the Lady of the Veil and Inanis' Dreamscape, with hidden passages and mechanisms to find.
The trailer released alongside pre-orders in August 2026 revealed the identity of the man cradling the infant — Mó Yuan, leader of the Bastion of Mó, portrayed through facial and motion capture by kungfu film actor Donnie Yen, who has served as a creative consultant on Phantom Blade Zero since 2023 and has been deeply involved in shaping its kungfu style and action design.
What the Official Copy Confirms About Play
Combat is described as flowing through seamless combos that are easy to learn yet rewarding to master, built on over 30 primary weapons and more than 20 unique Phantom Edges taken from fallen foes.
The store page names the core verbs: dodge, deflect, counter and strike in one seamless flow, where victory and defeat are decided in an instant.
The game is single-player with Steam Achievements, full controller support and adjustable difficulty. S-GAME describes the style as kungfupunk: wuxia cinema action, cold steel, mechanical prosthetics and industrial ruins, powered by Unreal Engine 5 and motion capture with martial arts choreographers from classic wuxia films.
